Whispers from Beyond – The Signs Our Loved Ones Send

Today has been cold, wet and windy here in Melbourne. I was out with a friend, and we were talking about all things spiritual. It’s such a nice feeling to connect with someone who understands this path — someone who gets what it’s like to grow on a deeper level and to have spiritual awakenings in all different ways.

Lately, I’ve been feeling my mum’s presence really strongly. She’s been on my mind since yesterday. Sometimes I feel her more than other days — today has been powerful. I’ve always had a strong spiritual connection with my mum. Even after she passed away, that connection didn’t end… if anything, it became stronger. Her spirit is gentle, but clear. She finds ways to show me she’s near all the time. Maybe because mum was an intuitive person. And maybe I am lucky because I have spiritual and intuitive abilities that allow me to recognize and sense spirit.

The past few days have been full of signs. It feels like she’s trying to tell me that something big is about to happen.

One sign I’ve seen a lot is the number 888. It’s been everywhere — on number plates, receipts, the radio, shop signs… literally popping up all over the place. And every time I see it, I feel a little nudge — like she’s saying, “I’m here. Something good is coming.”

888 is a strong sign that abundance (financial, emotional, or spiritual) is on its way. It’s often seen as a message that rewards for your efforts are coming soon — especially if you've been working hard or manifesting something. Sometimes 888 shows up when a phase of your life is ending, and a new chapter is beginning. It’s like the universe saying, “Something new is about to bloom — get ready.” Many believe 888 is also a sign from loved ones in the spirit world, especially when you’re already feeling their presence. It’s a spiritual thumbs-up — confirmation that you're on the right path and they’re with you.

I remember always going to my mum whenever I had visions or experiences that felt bigger than this physical world. She was the first person I’d talk to — she understood that part of me, because her visions and intuition would always match mine.

Lately, I’ve found myself speaking to her again, just like I used to — sharing the visions I’ve been having, talking to her like she’s still sitting right next to me. And in a way, I truly believe she is.

That’s why I feel these angel numbers — especially 888 — are her way of saying, “I hear you. I’m still listening.”

Yesterday, I saw a cross-shaped cloud in the sky, right above my house. That took me straight back to when my mum used to read my coffee cup. She always used to say that when a cross showed up in the cup, it meant success was coming — especially something good with finances or at home. So when I saw the cross in the sky, I knew it was her again. A message of hope. A reminder. To anyone else…..this would just be a cloud in the sky, but this was a message from beyond. I look at the sky every day and any chance I get. This has never happened before, so I know this was more than just a standard cloud.

As I was driving home, thinking about all these signs, I looked up at the sky and said out loud, “Mum, if this is really you, please show me.” I wanted a sign. Something clear.

When I got home and stepped out of the car, I saw something that made me stop completely.

On my driveway, there was a big pile of leaves — shaped perfectly like a heart. The winds were so strong today, and yet, those leaves weren’t moving. The heart stayed there, like it was placed with care. That was my sign. That was love.

Moments like this remind me of how powerful spirit is.

Our loved ones never really leave us. Their bodies may be gone, but their souls stay close. They show up in our dreams, in songs, feathers, scents, clouds, numbers… in so many beautiful ways. We just have to open our hearts, slow down, and listen.

These moments can be soft reminders that love continues, even after death. They’re not always easy to explain, but they often come just when we need them.

I want you to know: you are not alone. Your loved ones are with you — even if you can’t always feel them. Just ask them to show you a sign. Then wait, and trust. The spirit world always finds a way.
